Privacy Policy
Version: 2019-1
Greenhost is committed to privacy by design and complies with European data protection legislation. This Privacy Policy explains the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information by Greenhost. As used in this policy, "personal information" means information that would allow a party to identify you, such as your name, address or location, telephone number or email address. This Privacy Policy also explains our commitment to you with respect to our use and disclosure of anonymised browsing and site usage data that Greenhost collects as the provider of the Services.
The Services are hosted in the Netherlands. By accessing or using any of our Services, or by providing your Personal Data through other means, you are accepting and agreeing to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Unless otherwise noted on a particular site or service, this Privacy Policy applies to your use of all services and websites that Greenhost operates.
This Privacy policy does not apply to personal or non personal information you store on our servers in using our Services, such as emails or information uploaded to your webspace, VPSs or databases. Details on this can be found in our Terms and Conditions or are specified in a Processors Agreement.
Non Personal Browsing Information we Collect
When you use our Services, our servers may collect information indirectly and automatically (through, for example, the use of your "IP address") about your activities while visiting the Websites and information about the browser you are using. We use this information for internal purposes only, such as to help understand how the Services are being used, to improve our Services and for systems administration purposes.
Automated data collection
This website uses Matomo, a web analytics open-source software. Matomo uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated about your use of the website (including your IP address anonymised prior to its storage) will be stored. You may refuse the use of tracking cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser.
For the purpose of handling security incidents, this web page also automatically stores a log file of the data, which your browser sends when visiting the page, specifically: - IP-Address - Browser-type and -version - Operating system - Referrer URL (the page, from which this page was linked, including the search term, in case of a search engine) - Time and date of the request.
No Retention
We discard non personal browsing information from our Greenhost server logs once we have used the information for the limited purposes noted above.

Disclosures of Personal Information
We do not sell or otherwise voluntarily provide the non personal browsing information we collect about you or your website usage to third parties. In general it is not our practice to disclose personal information to third parties. An exception can be made in a good faith belief that disclosing your personal information to a third party is reasonably necessary to: - take action regarding suspected illegal activities; - enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy; - comply with legal processes, such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order; or - protect our rights, reputation, and property, or that of our users, affiliates, or the public.
If we do provide your data to a third party, we only do so after entering into a processors agreement with that third party to maintain a comparable level of security and confidentiality. Greenhost will remain responsible for the processing.
If Greenhost is required to provide a third party with your personal information (whether by subpoena or otherwise) Greenhost will use reasonable means to notify you promptly of that event, unless prohibited by law or if Greenhost is otherwise advised in legal proceedings.
No Linking
Greenhost does not intentionally link browsing information or server logs to the personal information you submit to us.
Visiting minors
We do not intentionally process data on visitors aged under 16. If you are convinced that we have collected data on minors that visited our website without parental consent, please contact us through legal@greenhost.net. We will remove the collected data.
Automated decision-making
Based on automated data processing, we make decisions that may have an impact on individuals. These decisions will mainly concern automated security processes, such as spam filtering and IP-filtering, and may result in (partial) unavailability of our Services. If you believe such a decision has been made in error, please contact us to review the decision.
Right to access, rectification and erasure of data
You are entitled to access and correct your data, or ask us to delete it. Many changes can be made in our Self Service Centre. You are also entitled to withdraw previously given consent to this privacy statement, or to object to our processing of your data. You are also entitled to data portability, which means that we will provide you with a copy of the data we have on you, upon your request. If you want to use any of these rights, please send your specific request to support@greenhost.net. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but at the latest 4 weeks after your request.
Note that these rights do not apply if they conflict with other legal obligations, such as the obligation to keep records for all contracts and invoices for a period of 7 years.
Security of Personal Information
Greenhost has implemented reasonable measures to protect against unauthorised access to and unlawful interception or processing of personal information that Greenhost stores and controls. However, it is impossible to fully eliminate security risks. Third parties may circumvent our security measures to (un)lawfully intercept data we collect, Greenhost transmissions or private communications. If any such security breach occurs we will inform relevant authorities of the breach and we will post a notice to the Websites.
Changes and Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will also revise the Effective Date below. We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed about how we are protecting the personal information we collect. Your continued use of the Services constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any updates.

However, please keep in mind that this Privacy Policy may not be completely suitable for your situation. Greenhost strongly encourages you to seek the advice of your own attorney before repurposing this Privacy Policy on your own site.
